Dave is the original owner of this Avenger. He bought the kit which included the interior, windshield, rear glass, wheels, etc. directly from Fiberfab. It was the first 3 piece body sent to the East coast. Dave did all the work on it including wiring and paint. The side windows were the hardest part of the project and he is still not happy with the overall fit of the molded parts. |
The door handles are mounted to the body (instead of the door) with just the pin on the door itself. His car was built in 1966 on a '66 Karmann Ghia frame. The frame is a bit wider than the VW so Dave had to make some modifications to make the frame rails fit. The Fiberfab company didn't know that the frames were any different.
